How do I install the wallpaper?
Yes, you can do it yourself! Our repositionable adhesive backed vinyl is revolutionary in its ease of installation. For more information, see our installation guide.
Can I have someone install the wallpaper for me?
Yes - we can recommend qualified installers in your geographic area to install your wallpaper.
Which type of wallpaper should I use?
Wallpaper can be printed on either a traditional type wallpaper that is installed with wallpaper paste or on a repositionable, bubble free, adhesive backed vinyl product.
Both materials produce pleasing results although the colors can be slightly more vibrant on the vinyl product. The traditional material has a little texture which some clients prefer. Request sample swatches if you would like to compare the finish. Otherwise, it comes down to installation. If you want to install it yourself and have had experience installing traditional wallpaper, that is probably the best product for you. If you are installing and don't have any experience with traditional wallpaper then use the repositionable, adhesive backed vinyl. If you are having someone install it for you, most painters can install traditional wallpapers, while local vinyl installers usually can be found at specialty sign shops. We can refer you to qualified local installers in your area.
Are there any tricks to measuring the wall area I want to cover?
The problem with most walls is that they aren't square. Therefore, we recommend that you measure the wall horizontally at the top, middle, and bottom and vertically on the left, center and right. Use the largest dimension for each measurement when ordering your wallpaper. Normally we will size your graphic up another few percent to include a safety margin (bleed).
What kind of surfaces can the wallpaper be applied to?
The surfaces must be smooth. The wall should painted or primed - no unpainted drywall! Use an alchohol based primer if you aren't painting and let the surface dry for 48 hours. If you are painting use semi-matte or semi-gloss paint and let the wall dry for 1 week.
What artwork can be used for custom wallpaper?
Any relatively high resolution digital artwork will print well. At final size the artwork should be at least 50 dpi. We can scan photo's, negatives or slides for a small additional charge. If in doubt let us take a look at your artwork and we can tell you if it will work.
What tools do I need to install the wallpaper?
See our application guide.
What if I damage the wallpaper during installation?
For a minimal charge we will replace the damaged panel.
How can I make sure that I like the pictures I choose?
For every order we will send you a proof print that will show you how your artwork will look. You approve it and we print it!
What if I need help with my artwork?
Our designers are standing by to help with sizing, retouching, or other artwork manipulation.
